Valerie is a Puerto Rican multidisciplinary artist based in Virginia. Her preferred mediums include photography, pottery, poetry, and other visual art methods. Her art has been exhibited at the Arches Gallery in the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Virginia, and the Capital One Center in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia.
As a visual arts facilitator and advocate with Community Building Art Works (a Veteran Charity Organization), she has collaborated with the USO, the Women’s Military Memorial in Arlington, and the Wounded Warrior Battallion. She is a retired US Air Force Veteran and a DoD-certified Master Resilience Trainer who loves teaching resiliency skills that can support mental health and replace misery with happiness. As a small-business owner of Craft & Market, LLC, she works with wood and acrylic to create pieces that reminisce and represent her Puerto Rican heritage in the greater DMV area.
